The Reason Why Google+ Become Successful

Eating sushi, I received an invitation mail. It was to Google+. I tried it and was sure it become successful. There are many reasons, but I'll talk about areason.

Google isn't a Social company but the Data company. "Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful." So it doesn't have to win the Social war with Facebook. It just have to get Data.

You share on Facebook and/or Twitter when you check in a place on Foursquare. You share on Facebook, Twitter and/or Flickr when you post a picture to Instagram. Google+ is just added to them. You will share on Google+ when check in or post a picture. Google can get your data.

Google doesn't have to be the platform of social service, but just have to get data. I think Google want to doReal-Time Search, not Social Service. Google is good at data analysis. It must release some services which use a lot of data. Interest Search may be one of them.

I have a high expectation of the future of Google+. And I wanna eat sushi.

Rake 0.9 Breaks Rails

Eating sushi, I heard that DHH mentioned rake.

Rake 0.9, which was released yesterday, broke Rails (and others). While we wait for a fix, you'll want gem 'rake', '0.8.7' in your Gemfile.

"heroku rake db:migrate" was aborted. It is solved by adding "gem 'rake', '0.8.7'" to Gemfile.
